Microsemi TimeProvider 500 (Translator)

Designed to deliver cost effective frequency synchronisation for Next-Generation Networks, the Microsemi TimeProvider 500 (Translator) is a compact and easy to use solution to provide synchronisation in the Metropolitan Area Network or Access network. The TimeProvider 500 translates Precision Time Protocol IEEE 1588-2008 to traditional T1/E1 synchronisation signals complying with ITU G.8261 & G.823/G.824.

TimeProvider 500 (Translator) works with Microsemi’s TimeProvider 5000, TimeProvider 2700, TimeProvider 2300, TimeHub 5500 and SSU 2000 PTP Grandmaster products.

Devices in an Ethernet network can be accurately synchronised with IEEE 1588-2008 Precision Time Protocol, allowing operators to achieve precise frequency at the edge of the network, to maintain and assure service levels supported by traditional TDM networks.

TimeProvider 500 enables operators to lower operational cost while delivering the same quality of performance by replacing leased T1/E1 lines with Ethernet. TimeProvider 500 has two T1/E1 outputs to frequency-synchronise a variety of PTP enabled-devices such as wireless base stations, PON and DSL equipment, and remote terminals.
