Microsemi TimeProvider 1500
The TimeProvider® 1500 combines the power of Microsemi’s Rubidium holdover technology with advanced IEEE 1588-2008 soft clock algorithms to provide a Stratum-1 Primary Reference Source (PRS) without requiring GPS.The Microsemi TimeProvider 1500 accepts IEEE 1588-2008 Unicast/Multicast (Hybrid) messages to synchronise to a IEEE 1588-2008 grandmaster, such as the TimeProvider 5000 or SSU 2000 PTP blade and provides G.2830/G.811 compliant stratum-1 E1/T1, 2048/1544 KHz as well as 1PPS and 10MHz sine wave outputs. The TimeProvider 1500 output performance meets or exceeds the PRS requirement as defined in Telcordia GR.2830 with a long term accuracy of 1 x 10-12 (ITU-G.811, Stratum1). The outputs of the TimeProvider 1500 PRS reference outputs can be fed to a variety of distributed and geographically remote synchronisation network elements such as the SSU 2000.
Stratum-1 PRS alternative to GPS and Cesium Clocks
Until now, the only way to achieve traceable stratum-1 PRS network synchronisation was to install costly GPS antennas or Cesium clocks. TimeProvider 1500 provides an attractive stratum -1 alternative by combining the power of Microsemi’s Rubidium oscillators and its advanced IEEE1588 soft clock algorithms to deliver stratum-1 synchronisation without requiring GPS antennas or cesium clocks.
With No Compromise In Performance
TimeProvider 1500 meets or exceeds the most stringent test criteria required to claim Stratum-1 PRS level performance. The TimeProvider 1500 fully complies with the ITU- T G.811 Stratum 1 and GR.2830 PRS performance specifications and also meets the ITU-T G.8261 specification for providing precise timing over IP, packet-based networks.
In a Compact 1 RU Form Factor
The TimeProvider 1500 is designed for deployment at CO and MSC/RNC locations. Measuring a compact 19″ (W) x 9.21″ (D) X 1.73″ (H), the TimeProvider 1500 easily fits standard communications racks and equipment cages where real estate is at an absolute premium.
